退伍老兵因在战争中救大拿的父亲而受伤，前田大脑里面残留弹片导致他经常间歇性失忆。大拿为了报恩让儿子接这位老兵回来养老，前田由于木生的疏忽导致老人走失。象牙山村民全体出动终于找回老人，村里为了表扬大家这种乐于助人、互相帮扶的美德成立了象牙山帮办团并给所有人授予“象牙山的好人”称号。老人记忆错乱回到战争年代，村民们一起陪他演戏帮他找回记忆，还找到了他失联多年的战友，使老人完成心愿。大家在这过程中感同身受的体验了从参军入伍到抗美援朝的整个军旅生涯，每个人都如同当了一回兵得到了不同的成长。同时也使大家认识到没有革命先辈们的浴血奋战就没有今天的和平时代，让我们学会珍惜今天来之不易的幸福生活，学会感恩。
