「男はつらいよ」が現代の大阪によみがえる！宅男1969年8月、宅男山田洋次監督、渥美清主演の映画『男はつらいよ』が公開され、大ヒットとなった。以来、寅さんと妹さくらとの情愛や、瞼(まぶた)の母・お菊との丁々発止、マドンナとの出会いと別れなど お決まりの人情話は日本のお盆や正月 に無くてはならない風物詩となった。映画 第49作『男はつらいよ 寅次郎ハイビスカスの花 特別篇』から約四半世紀。2020年、舞台を大阪に変えて、「贋作 男はつらいよ」として寅さんが現代によみがえる。寅さんを演じるのは、関西の落語家・桂雀々。寅さんにふんして注目を集めた落語会「桂はつらいよ」。その風貌が似ていることで、山田洋次監督自らが新しい寅さん像を着想した『贋作 男はつらいよ』。寅さんの妹のさくら役の常盤貴子とそのファミリーも、みんな大阪弁をしゃべる。設定を現代に置き換え「贋作」をうたうが、“本物の本物による「贋作」”であることが、ドラマの一番の見どころです。
