回复 :十五岁的男孩查理（查理·普拉默 Charlie Plummer 饰）自幼就失去了母亲，整个童年时代都在不安全感中度过，因此个性极为的内向和胆怯。最近，查理从华盛顿的斯波坎搬到了波特兰，准备在那里开始他全新的生活，希望新的环境能够一扫之前的坏运气。在查理最不如意的时候，他遇见了一匹名为皮特的赛马。身材矫健性格温存的皮特深深的吸引了查理的注意，让查理无法自持的开始接近它。查理将皮特当做是自己最好的朋友，虽然所有人都告诉他，赛马只是赛马，一旦他们不能够再参加比赛了，就将面临被屠宰的命运。在连续输了好几场比赛后，皮特也要走向它马生的终点了，不忍心看到皮特死去的查理决定将它从马场里偷走。
