该剧改编自东野圭吾同名小说，黑暗故事背景由平成初期改编为令和时代。龟梨饰演的主人公·佐久间骏介是广告代理店的能干策划人，黑暗是一个对工作和恋爱都以玩游戏的通关感获得快感的人物。为了报复突然将自己从负责的大型项目中撤职的大企业副社长，佐久间与副社长女儿联手上演一出绑架戏。与想救回女儿的副社长的攻防战，以及与共犯关系的女儿之间扭曲而危险的恋爱就此展开。
